13.11.17, VBC PhD Award 2017 for Mamduh Zabidi!
Congratulations to M. Mamduh bin A. Zabidi, a DK RNA alumnus, for winning one of the VBC PhD Awards 2017!
Mamduh conducted his PhD studies in the group of Alex Stark (IMP) as member of our doctoral programme. He defended his PhD thesis “Enhancer-responsiveness and –specificity of Core Promoters in Gene Transcription” in May 2017.
The annual VBC PhD Awards are granted to postgraduate students in acknowledgement of their outstanding PhD theses, selected by a jury of VBC group leaders. This year the awards were presented at the end of the VBC PhD Symposium “Continuum”, on 10th November 2017. Unfortunately Mamduh himself could not take part in the ceremony; Alex Stark was there for him.
